Killer Wins Contest ‘Miss Prison’
In a country known for its beauty, both natural and human, it seems that even to the convicted killer of Brazil are pleasing to the eye.
A prison in Recife, a city in the state of Pernambuco, recently held its first contest ‘Miss Prison’ to join a growing list of world beauty contests behind bars.
“It’s flattering that people think I’m beautiful,” said the winner of ‘Miss Prison’ 2011, Rhyasa usually Guedesin, a convicted murderer 19 years of age.
“I have a boyfriend right now,” said Guedesin, who maintained his innocence even though he is serving a life sentence for his crime.
“I’m focused on getting out of here. I’ve never killed anyone, so I’m back to my normal life and not too distant future.”
